Spaying or Neutering Cats

Spaying or Neutering are surgical sterilization procedures that will prevent unwanted pregnancies and also decrease the likelihood of certain cancers and diseases as your cat ages.

We recommend that all pets be spayed or neutered unless they are breeding or show animals.

If you are interested in breeding, our doctors will be happy to talk to you about breed specific screening tests that are recommended to help rule out genetic diseases that may cause discomfort in your pet's offspring.

We usually spay or neuter kittens between the ages of 5 and 7 months, once their initial series of kitten vaccines are finished.
