Senior Wellness

Senior Wellness at Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital

We consider you and your pet(s) a part of our family and we want to help keep them healthy and comfortable as they age. The age at which an animal becomes a senior is different for every pet, but we are introducing this topic now to ensure that we meet your animal's needs.

Some of the health issues that our pets may face as they age include:

  • Digestive Disorders

  • Cognitive Issues

  • Diabetes

  • Arthritis

  • Cancer

  • Heart Disease

  • Liver Disease

  • Kidney Disease

  • Dental Problems

Early detection and treatment of these conditions can help us extend and improve the quality of your pet's life.

2 ways in which we can detect problems early:

  • Twice yearly Senior Wellness Exams

  • Senior Wellness Screening

The Senior Wellness screening for your pet may include:

  • White blood cells analysis

  • Red blood cell

  • Platelet Count

  • Urine Screening

  • Thyroid

  • Blood chemistry profile (To evaluate major organs, such as the liver, kidneys and pancreas)

Our primary concerns are your pet's health and your peace of mind. Please feel free to ask us questions.
