Associate Veterinarian

  • 4-day work weeks, no overnights, and limited on-call hours.
  • As our newest veterinarian, you will have a mentor team and will meet with your mentors weekly to discuss challenging cases, be instructed in each area, and make plans for tackling future challenges.
  • Our hospital has a high surgery, dental & ultrasound caseload, and previous new veterinarians have performed 200-300 procedures during their first year at Pittsfield Vet. The mentor program includes a clothes allowance, vacation time after six months, and formal reviews at 90 and 180 days to track our progress with your learning experience.
  • Our doctor team has a collaborative culture and meets weekly to round on interesting cases and to keep an open line of communication between all of our doctors. You will be supported by a team of experienced veterinary technicians who are continually enhancing the support we provide to the animals we care for.
  • Additionally, we have some great technology: Advanced 3-probe ultrasound with live telemedicine capabilities, Digital dental radiology that gets used on every dental, flexible & rigid laparoscopy, Ligature Device, Class IV Laser, and an onsite boarded surgeon when needed.

We started a Community Client Care program. This program helps disabled and elderly locals who have difficulty taking care of their pets by offering our services and paying a portion or all of their vet bill, discounted or free grooming, discounted or free food, and/or discounted or free pet retail products.

The Berkshire region is noted as a center for the visual and performing arts; its art museums include the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Clark Art Institute, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA), Berkshire Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, and the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA). Our county borders three neighboring states, New York, Vermont, and Connecticut. Two of these neighboring states can be seen right down the road from our practice at the top of Mount Greylock, the highest natural point in Massachusetts, at 3,492 feet. The Berkshires also have numerous trails, including part of the Appalachian Trail, large tracts of wilderness and parks, the Berkshire Botanical Garden, and the Hebert Arboretum. The south county area includes Bash Bish Falls, the tallest waterfall in Massachusetts.
